This is why I don’t care for New Beetles. Plastic, plastic everywhere! Golfs are so much easier to work on. I don’t know if the New New Beetles are any better, but I hope so. They do look better, in my opinion.

Yup. Don’t snap any of the tabs on the bumper cover.

Can you put the front end on the back?

V.a.g. Because simplicity and ease of maintenance ARE HORRIBLE EVIL THINGS THAT DESERVE TO DIE UGLY BLOODY PAINFUL DEATHS

Needy little buggers, sorry about the pun, they always seem to need some attention. The chime (for open doors, seat belt, etc.) in ours just started chiming today for no apparent reason. Bong, bong, bong, bong, bong.... On and on. I’ll be looking into it when I get home.

Needs a door latch, I practically guarantee it. Or if you’re handy, you can buy the microswitch that fails, dismantle the door and latch, and replace it yourself. Really common problem.

There is no easy way. To do anything. Though complete disassembly is definitely up there. =)

And you’d know, I remember that conversation we had some time back! Seriously, this is the most expedient way to access and remove the core support from a Beetle. Much better than removing the bumper cover on its own.

That was seriously VAG’s favorite thing for awhile there: wanna do service? take off the crash bar.

It’s not just VW
Caddilac, just to replace the headlight bulb.
